It may now be 3316 Rock Creek Dr. Raleigh NC, 27609 but to me it is a place where my heart will forever be beyond the bricks and the mortar. Fifty-six years ago this house was built with love to house a family for many generations. Once a welcoming home, today it is striped of its bones and torn down to dust. Nothing remains but the memories of the smells coming from the oven, the laughter of kids running through the luscious garden, and the calm sweet mornings of the soft summer light peeking through worn screens. The demolition of Honey's house, my great-grandmother, is difficult to cope with. I am losing a piece of our family history and the last tangible object holding the presence of Honey. The series expresses my most treasured memories thrust into a bittersweet finale. It is a documentation of the loss of the home that has a sweet spot in my heart. As sweet as Honey.
